Coastal Cruising's 3-part article (15 pages) about how the Tartan 26 came to be. Quite
an interesting read, if I do say so. I apologise for the quality of the copies; I received
a photocopy of the story stashed in with other papers that I got when I bought Pretentious.
You will notice, if you have studied the Tartan brochure (~ 1.68MB pdf)
that there are some differences between the original design and also with the prototype, Trilogy.
Even Tartan made significant modifications throughout her brief production life, especially w/ regards
the rudder configuration.

(with body plan and original sail plan, which
in my opinion was better than what it ended up being. The mast was moved aft a foot, making the
foretriangle larger)
